Squaw’s Finest: Sick at the Bird
US Freeskiing Nationals - Snowbird, UT
Congratulations to Jackie Passo and Kevin O’Meara of Squaw Valley for their first and second place finishes in this year’s Subaru US Freeskiing Nationals at Snowbird, Utah.
Not only did Ms. Passo represent by winning first place for the women, but her smooth, monster double-stager earned her the coveted Tobias Lee Memorial Sickbird Award, which is arguably the highest honor bestowed upon freeskiiers. O’Meara was a recipient of the Sickbird Award in 2007 at his home mountain, Squaw Valley.
Both Jackie and Kevin were also impressive at this year’s Suburu Freeskiing Event at Squaw Valley, where they made the locals proud by absolutely killing it both days and finishing 4th and 5th respectively.
The Suburu Freeskiing tour is one of the most exciting events in all of sports. Each year some of the world’s most talented freeriders throw caution to the wind as they travel the country showcasing their strength and skills in the cliffs and chutes of America’s finest ski resorts.
